......She dances like it's her last night on Sornieth.

......It may as well be, if she fails to get the target's attention. He's the commander of the Red Shield legionnaire, most trusted by the king, and his right-hand man.

......He's looking dispassionately at all the females. Herself, included.

......But this was to be expected. The commander was a hard man. Definitely not someone to be trifled with. He wasn't known to have flights of fancy. In fact, his reputation suggests that he would be extremely hard to get close to.

......Add to the fact that if she failed, she would be dooming the little town with the kindly tavernkeeper who gave her free dinner just the other night. The town was right along the path of the Red Shield legionnaire on its way to invade the southern merchant kingdoms by order of the king.

......There was no doubt that the soldiers would raze and pillage the town to the ground, it's citizens killed or sold off to slavery.

......Not that she really cared about all of that. But still, lives where on the line, which made the job kind of exciting.

......But what really made it important was that this was her ticket to the Guild. A lifetime of searching, figuring out hidden clues and using mere wits for survival had finally garnered her an invitation to the shadowy organization. That was hardly the end, though. She was merely an initiate, not a full-fledged member.

......This was her ultimate test. To a degree, this was her welcoming party. All initiates celebrated getting a ranked job. It was considered an honor. But should she prove incompetent, all traces of her would be eliminated.

......No pressure.

......Quite the opposite. She feels exhilarated. If she wasn't staking her life for a job, then it wasn't worth doing in the first place.

......So she dances. Gives it her all. Dances for the pleasure of all these military men. Dances for her target.

......She loves to dance, anyway. It was her chosen profession before being initiated into the Guild. She loves to move, sway, gyrate her slender figure in time to the rhythm. It is a pleasure second only to one other thing. A thing she lived and would literally die for.

......Finally, she catches his eye. Her movements are full of passion. Her look, full of secret promise. From beneath thick, dark lashes, her gaze never leaves his. No sooner had the performance ended then an attendant informs her that she is being summoned to the commander's tent.

......The next morning, the news spreads like wildfire among the troops. It is very likely the king would have heard of his commander's demise by the time he has breakfast.

......Oh, and that thing that she loved more than dancing? It was assassination, if you haven't guessed.

......She passes her test with flying colors. Has a shiny new tattoo with the Guild's emblem to show for it, too.

......It was a long journey back to Aeos, her home city by the sea. She'll send her report on the success of her infiltration of the Guild to the imperial strategist later tonight. It was through his help that she'd found the guild at all. She understands it is useful for her beloved Aeos to gain a foothold in one of Sornieth's most elusive organizations.

......So now she has some free time and Tamika idly wonders if the tavernkeeper would give her free dinner again tonight.

I really love the time and effort you put into their bio pages. The lore is really interesting and wow look at all of the gorgeous art! I'm definitely going to have to visit some of those artists when they have openings.

I really love how soft and elegant Eris looks with her flowing gown and floral accents. It is kind of sad that she's given up so much of her freedom for her kingdom, but at the same time it's beautiful that she's become a ruler loved by her people. Sometimes you just have to make a sacrifice, and exchange one type of power for another.

I absolutely adore Tamika. I'm a big fan of the femme fatale trope, and really love the idea of a powerful and lethal assassin disguising herself as a dancer. And ahhhh~! Her outfit is absolutely beautiful and goes so well with her genes and colors. <3

"Erm," he begins, "Riiiiiight, who sent you here? I'll bet an entire cauldron of spicy Firefly Soup that you're one of those shady murderer mercenary deals, hm? A little birdy told me you dance pretty nicely. Well, either way...I'd rather hope you're not here to send me off the mortal coil, ya'know? I'd hate to scratch up your pretty face...though come to think of it, we might just get tangled in a whole big bundle of silks and nobody gets hurt 'cept I suppose a few wounds to our dignities, yeah? Hehehehe- well, what's that? You ain't here for that? Fantastic!"
