Once upon a time he was the child of a clan leader and his bride. In his youthful and naive days he wished to be a warrior that could defend all. Eventually he created a family of his own and proudly protected those he loved. His naive nature was shattered when he found himself defensless and usless to defend his family against a terrible shade infected beast. All he could do was flee and hear the shreiks of those he cared for faded away. In the forest he became hopelessly lost both physically and emotionally. Only saved when Quorra found the small fae and took him in. She found that his talents with disappearing and moving within mist was a useful skill that she could use and offered him a job as her spy. He, broken but still having the remnants to remain alive, took the job and devotes his services to the pearlcatcher to whom he owes a life debt. The debt is only reason he continues to exist despite the terrible pains of his past.

ETYMOLOGY - Derived from obsidian, the English name for a specific type of volcanic glass. The name is ultimately derived from Latin obsidianus meaning "of Obsidius", after the Roman (also called Obsius in some instances) who supposedly was the first to discover this type of volcanic glass. *the visitor wanders into a quiet corner of the lair, a thin mist hovers in the air as they come to a branch that protrudes from between the cracks in the stone walls. The great tree has spread its limbs to every corner of the lair and this willow branch is without a doubt part of the main tree that looms protectively over the castle lair.* *the form of a fae slowly becomes visible within the mist as he sat upon the branch, idly polishing his helmet. He doesn't acknowledge the visitor's presence at first and the visitor has to cough a little in order to get him to look up.* You do wish to speak with me? *he asks softly, a tiny note of genuine curiosity within the monotone voice* If you insist. *with a gentle, slow, purposeful movement he places down the helmet on the branch beside him. As he moves the visitor can notice that his wings seem to fade into his surroundings for a moment but after blinking the visitor can see them properly again.* My name is Obsidius, *he gently touches claw to a spot between his shoulders* You will find I have no title or role within this lair. I am but a shadow, a wisp of mist upon the wind and but the ashes that remain of a dragon that once was. *he gestures to another part of the lair with a claw* Quorra will have information if you need to know more. I am not one to speak to others. It is to her that I owe my life and it is she that I serve without question. *he goes quiet once more as he picks up his helmet and starts to rub it with a small cloth.* *the visitor attempts to get more from the fae be he gives a blank glance with his worm fire eyes.* There is nothing more you will get from me. I suggest you try elsewhere. *the visitor cannot get anything else out of him so they move on.*
