He was once a warrior on his way to becoming a knight of prestige, however some trainees became jealous of is prowess and played a trick on him. They stole his pearl and intended to make him quit in return for the pearl, however a sudden attack occured in their location and in the scuffle the pearl was shattered. His mind shattered in the process and with what energy he had he collected the peices and escaped into the maze of the tanglewood. He remained there as a half crazed creature until Quorra stumbled upon him and repaired his pearl the best she could. He now lives with her, his broken mind have being given the name Spirit, during the short periods of lucidity he reverts to his name Thane.

*The visitor stumbles upon what appears to be an office or study in the main keep of the castle. It was a decent sized room, with two large desks sitting comfortably within the confines of the four walls. The walls were lined with books of all sizes; emblazoned with glittering titles and bound in stained leather. Several shelves housed glass orbs containing trinkets or artifacts, some of which glowed with an aura of magic around them. The more impressive of the two desks had an elaborately made lamp that glowed with a magic lit wick. A pristine quill sat in a holder with a nearby inkwell ready to be used. A comfortable seating pillow rested in front of the desk, as if it was a common occurrence for the dragon that owned that desk to have meetings with others.* *In the corner of the room there was a smaller desk, it was of no lesser quality then the first but behind this one sat a blank eyed pearlcatcher. His dull green eyes stared blankly at the desk in front of him. There was a small stack of papers in a tidy bin in one corner and a well used quill and inkwell sat within reach of him. His desk also has a lamp but it is dimmed, leaving the pearlcatcher in a half darkness* *in his claws he has a pearl, it seemed small considering the pearlcatcher looked to be an adult. It also had several blemishes and grooves from healed cracks. He was gently running the pads of his claws over the pearl, following the blemishes and lingering over the darker blemishes of the pearl. He did not acknowledge the visitor's presence, instead he only sat silently behind the desk.* He tends to be quiet. *a new voice spoke to the visitor. The visitor spins around and to find a the female pearlcatcher Quorra. In her claws was a large bundle of neatly stacked papers. Her first action is to put them onto the larger desk which the visitor can guess is her own.* His name is Spirit and you won't get much from him when he's like that... *she sighs and goes over to Spirit, patting his mane gently. He glances over to her for a moment before returning to blankly staring ahead.* In the past his pearl shattered, it broke him and even though I managed to help put it back together. It couldn't repair all the damage. *she gives Spirit a pained smile, before clearing her throat and going to her desk, a serious look returned to her face.* Now if you have business with me please speak up now. But if you do not I will ask you to leave. *The visitor nods an apology and leaves the room quietly*
