Hale

Hale grew up around three other siblings, two of which were other fae. Being fae, they often had very similar ideas about what to do, and their common mind was enhanced by them being triplets, in a way. Their guardian sister, Zephyr, would often spent hours listening to the wind, or apparently in a trance, and no matter how long he and his brothers sqawked at her she would not be moved. They lost interest quickly, however, and often spent hours rushing through the forest looking for stones to overturn and animals to bother. Their mother taught them to fish, and they became quite adept at it. Hale would often act as a lookout while his siblings got up to mischief, though they always shared the spoils of it with him equally, so he didn't mind too much.

When they were grown, their parents said it was time for them to leave the nest, though this was mostly the idea of their father. Fae are predisposed to stick together, and the triplets felt a hole where their mother had been once the nest was closed to them. They had no idea what to do or where to go, but Zephyr seemed to awaken, and led them across the ocean. They often had to rest on her back, their wings being much smaller and less powerful than hers. They found the long flight arduous, but eventually they landed in arcane lands, and Zephyr led them to the lair of a big group of dragons. They were taken in, and the triplets soon took up their old annoying habits.
