Shiny objects, especially treasure, has always been the focus of Solitude's life. He wasn't always attracted to shiny things, however. When he was younger, he was out in the forest and came across a pile of a witch's gold. Witch's gold is extremely cursed, and whoever takes it is cursed for eternity. Witch's gold looks like any other gold, which is why it is very hard to resist. Solitude took the gold, and not soon after a witch appeared to him. The witch gave him the opportunity to give it back and save himself from the curse, but Solitude thought she was lying about the ownership of the gold, causing him to be cursed for eternity. This curse forces him to steal or take anything shiny that he finds, which has made a criminal out of him. He has learned to live with his, though. He made a job out of it. He would always work alone until he came across a coatl named Mischief.

He noticed that Mischief shared his interest in gold, and he noticed her knack for tricks and thievery. Despite his past of always traveling alone, he quickly grew fond of the young coatl and her abilities. The two became partners and traveled together side by side, stealing gold and treasures all over Sornieth.
