Biography
Assassin
Ambitious | Unscrupulous
Right from his earliest memories, Blight remembered the whispers among his siblings and clanmates. Whispers of before, of a time when the family were the forefront of the clan and the envy of The Scarred Wasteland. Of a time before his mother went insane. There had been an attack, it was said. It had been the death of Pulse's previous mate and parts of the brood, and Blight's mother herself had changed. Became secretive, reclusive. Crazier. Blight didn't listen to the stories, he knew his mother wasn't crazy. She was an artist, a genious, and as such misunderstood by all around her.
Growing up, Blight's admiration for his mother grew, and he followed faithfully in her footsteps along the twisted paths of Plaguebringer's dominion, eager to know whatever his mother could teach him about diseases and self-defence. It was during these young years that a rumour started to spread that a sister had survived the attack that had brought such devastation on the family. A sister that had been left behind, deemed to weak to survive. It was said she was living in light territory now, and that some strange spell had made her indestructable.
The rumours upset and angered Blight's mother and Blight decided that to ease his mother's mind he had to find this sister and either find out her secret or, if the rumours were untrue, let her taste the wrath of the Plaguebringer that she had escaped last time. He told his mother of his plans, because why would he keep secrets from her, then left the clan to wander towards the Sunbeam Ruins under the guise of seeking apprentanceship under a toxin master.
Whatever greeting Blight had expected from the clan and his half-sister when he arrived, he did not get it. Stopped at the gates by a visciously snarling red dragon, he soon realized that this was the very dragon he was looking for. But Ruby refused to speak with him, and every attempt to pass her on to the clan lair ended with Blight laying face down on the dusty road with new cuts and bruises on his back. It took three days until someone came down to the gates and brought him in, to Ruby's clear discontent. But that was nothing compared to the flaming hatred she displayed from the very moment he revealed his heritage.
