Yovul may be small in size, but he is the most powerful and skilled battle-mage in the clan. His skill in battle is unmatched by all, save his mate, the Sage of Earth, and the Knight Commander. He is very thoughtful, and may consider issues for a long while before deciding on a course of action. Some call him a bit overly-cautious, but they'd never say that to his face. He loves his mate very much, and usually saves his emotions for her whilst remaining calm and stoic during court.
After his accident in battle left him unable to produce an heir with the Queen, he set about making plans to ensure the future of the Clan, and the continuation of the Royal Family. An already skilled mage at the time, he delved even deeper into magic, and for a long time, was so absorbed in his work that his mate began to worry for his sanity. No one ever found out quite what it was that he was working on for all that time, but some gossip that he was just trying "to heal his infirmity" and was unsuccessful.

One night, after all were asleep, Yovul arranged a meeting with the Sage of Ice; Venzii, who at the time was merely a trusted friend of the Royal Family. He asked him for a single favor; to produce an heir with Lokva in order to ensure the throne would go to a Royal Family member.
