Lore If one didn't know better, one might think that the eyespots on Roko's wings were actual, functioning eyes. He is as bad a gossip as Randi, and uses his stealth and his ability to wriggle through small spaces to his advantage to collect it. He got this habit from his father, as a complement to the breed, element, and devotion to the Stormcatcher he got from his mother.

"THE VOLTAGE! IT SURGES!"

Roko stared blankly. That booming voice couldn't possibly have come from the small, insectoid Spirit of Lightning - and yet, it had. He knew in his heart that his beloved patron deity, the Stormcatcher, had wanted all his children to hear these words, and had spoken them through the elemental familiars he had created.

"The Stormcatcher spoke! THE STORMCATCHER SPOKE!"

Roko zoomed through the tunnels of Clan Adeptica's home, shouting it over and over in his pure, uncontained joy. "THE STORMCATCHER SPOKE! THE STORMCATCHER SPOKE!"

"Oh, sweet Arcanist," Kahtaven groaned, pressing her palm to one side of her face. "Could you keep it down?"

Roko didn't hear her. He barreled on down the tunnel to Diamondshine's workshop. "MOM! THE STORMCATCHER SPOKE!"

"I heard you, Roko!" Hannah answered from the workbench. "Go get Arashi. We need to start her training right away!"

"I'm going!" Roko hurried right back out of the workshop to find his adopted little sister. Arashi was destined to become the clan's official Lightning Rep, and Roko and his parents had taken it upon themselves to teach her all about the ways of the Stormcatcher to prepare her for the role. Now was an auspicious moment to begin.

Roko found Arashi and brought her back to the workshop, where he and his mother began regaling her with everything they knew about the Shifting Expanse's way of life, all while showing her how Diamondshine and Hannah built their electronic gadgets. Arashi listened closely, especially when Roko repeated the words of the Stormcatcher, and then had to explain how voltage worked. His protege found all this fascinating, and recommitted to using a Ridgeback scroll when the time came for her to fully step up into her role in the clan.
