Dragon Log
No one is really sure where he came from, but he is a welcome addition to the Clan none-the-less. He has an easy manner and a love of words--and wordplay--that has made him a hit among many of the more intelligent dragons in the Clan. He absolutely loves to chat about his favorite set of scrolls--which seems to be growing larger by the day--and his interesting perspective on time has intrigued both Ruth and Beeblebrox (the former because of fluxes in time, the latter at the thought of an improbable Summer lasting years and years).
George's fascination with the coming of Winter is a little daunting to some, and no one really understands why he keeps talking about "waking the dragon," but he has such a nice personality that it is hard to remain vexed with him for long.... though Lapislazuli does wish he would stop eying her Winter Wolf Moony with such longing....
4-3-17: Within moments of joining the Clan, George had already established himself as a dragon who loves the unusual, so it is really no surprise that a Silvermane Barbtail has decided to take an interest in the young, somewhat displaced hatchling. It was a bigger surprise when both Amethyst and a somewhat aloof Pearlcatcher decided independently of each other to do so as well....
7-2-17: The Silvermane Barbtail has Awakened! George is happy for his friend, and eagerly waiting to see what the albino Manticore will do now. The rest of the Clan, on the other hand, is just grateful, after having heard some of George's less pleasant tales, that the creature has not suddenly developed blue eyes....
7-18-17: George has been experimenting with various apparel pieces in the hoard, and he has finally found a set that he likes: The Winter Wolf Cape to make him look like a "Stark" Wolf (whatever that is), the Ancient Broadsword needed by every hero, and a Winter Cape to ward off the chill. All he is missing now is the Winter flakes....but for now, at least, Winter is still coming, and has not yet actually arrived. A fact that some of the Clan, after listening to his tales of the "long night" are grateful for...
10-1-17: Recently, while perusing the hoard, George discovered the haunt of the Clan's then unbonded Hydra. To the Clan's shock, George got a sudden almost maniac gleam in his eyes, and declared "The dragon must have three heads!"
After Duskshadow and Moondust calmed their beating hearts--and convinced several of the more volatile members of the Clan NOT to attack George for his disturbing statement—the two Clan leaders demanded an explanation from their odd Clanmate. It took some time for George to understand their concerns, but once he did, he assured them that he was not, in fact, advocating the creation of Emperor Dragons. Rather, the unfortunate words were apparently a reference to something in his favorite collection of scrolls: A family of strange creatures that worshipped and rode dragons, and fought with fire and blood, and wanted vengeance for something to do with a Throne and Lions, Stags and Wolves...
…and at that point Dusk and Moon both lost the ability to understand a thing their Clanmate was saying. They did, however, note that the usually aloof Hydra was curled up protectively around the ecstatic GeorgeRRMartin...
1-10-18: George's Hydra has Awakened! Targaryon (and the Clan is still trying to figure out what that name might mean) is now much larger and stronger than she/he once was, and seems perfectly acclimated to Clan life. S/he also seems to be eyeing some of the smaller unaligned familiars as food choices for a celebratory dinner. Oh dear...
2-3-18: George may be acquiring a new task in the Clan...or perhaps Moondust just wants him to have something to occupy him during the cold months, so he doesn't start suggesting dragons should have three heads again. Whatever the reason, Moondust asked George to record the exploits of the Clan during the Crystalline Gala, much to George’s original chagrin. After some time on the task, however, the aspiring Author found that it was much more fun than he had thought, and may even consider doing something similar in the future, for other Festivals… ( )
9-1-18: George decided to accompany his friend JKR--and JKR's friend Norberta--on a trip to the new Volcano for the Flameforger's Festival, which, in his opinion, takes place at a much better time of the year than the Crystalline Gala. While at the Volcano, he had an unusual experience, leading to an even more unusual reward… ( )
And now George and JKR are growing closer...and George has 3 Targaryon Eggs! Or, at least, something close to them....
5-23-19: George has made another exploration of the hoard, and has come back with another odd familiar. This one he has proudly called "Lannister," and insists that the Golden Lionsnake is the "perfect embodiment of a family of snakes in lion's clothing." Duskshadow tried, at first, to get her odd Clanmate to explain further, but when George started talking about paying debts and winning thrones, she felt the familiar headache begin to build, and decided to just leave George to his ramblings. In the meantime, Lannister has settled into George's section of the Library, and seems to be enjoying himself a great deal, although he clearly does not like Targaryon at all...
8-22-19: Lannister has Awakened at last! George is happy for his friend, though he does wish that the Golden Lionsnake would quit snarling at Targaryon every time they cross paths. Perhaps he should not have regaled him quite so much with tales of that fascinating land when Lannister was just beginning the bonding....
1-3-20: A new year, another familiar! The Clan has given up trying to figure out George's eclectic tastes and odd naming scheme, and is simply watching with interest as George courts the White Rot Deer he insists on calling "Baratheon"....
4-11-20: Baratheon has Awakened! And George could not be happier. His familiar family, however, has a different opinion. It is a good thing that Baratheon is wood, or Lannister would have eaten him long ago. Now if only Targaryon would stop speculating on how to learn how to breathe fire…Hmm…perhaps he needs to find a wolf to balance things out? Maybe he needs to look through the hoard again…
7-27-24: Despite his favorite stories, George is not, himself, naturally much of an adventurer, so it was a bit of a shock when he suddenly decided to go wandering in the Starwood Strand. It was an even bigger shock when he returned a few hours later with the Clan’s Dusky Dreadwolf padding at his heels. The creature had left for the woods some time before, while still Wary of the Clan, and they had truly thought that they would likely never see him again. Now, however, it seems that all he really needed was the right dragon to come along and become his friend. Of course, George has a different, far more fantastical story of how he “rescued” the young wolf from some kind of calamity or other, but most of the Clan is trying hard to ignore these ramblings. At least this particular familiar does not appear to like thrones or heads – though George will have to keep a close eye on “Stark” as the wolf has clearly taken a deep dislike to poor Targaryon, growling every time the older familiar tries to get within so much of five feet of the wolf. If this keeps up, it could make for a very interesting bonding indeed…
