Hira's familiar used to be a normal hummingbird... until Hira came along. Hira is well known in the clan for performing strange magical experiments and examining things until they perish. Ever since the incident with her familiar, she's been trying to expand on things to use as test subjects. Though she still uses her hummingbird, she generally only uses it for spells that she knows won't harm it. The hummingbird doesn't seem to mind either way though, but many think that this is because its sense of emotion might have become warped as well as its appearance. After all, anyone would be crazy to want to be a companion to Hira. Many dragons like to compare Hira to her mother Ginny, which is understandable since both have an obsession with trying to understand how things work, though Hira's studies are leaned more towards magic than Ginny's. Though many don't seem to like Hira or Ginny for some reason, Hira's a little more bearable to talk to, which is lucky since she is required to talk to if anyone wants to borrow books. Hira runs the library, a quiet and surprisingly tidy place. If she's not in the lair, she's probably at the Fairgrounds either with or without Ginny.
