During the earlier days of the clan, there was no need for hunting meat, as all dragons at the time were either plant or insect eaters, or both. Because of this, Jacques often spent his time looking after his mate, Ginny, and making sure she didn't get into too much trouble. This job was always boring to him and caused him to become restless, so he was happy when the first Wildclaw was introduced to the clan, as he now had the job of leading hunting patrols. How he became Ginny's mate is a question that many dragons ask, but when asked, he always gives some vague sort of answer like "It just happened" or "You just have to get used to her". Despite this, it seems he genuinely does care for her and their two daughters, but sometimes shares Arashi's frustrations with Ginny.
Even though it's a little silly, he's proud of the fact that he has Imperial blood.
