______ The battle is fierce. Robyn is in her element, as always - vicious and cold and ruthless. There is nothing she can do to aid in the Nocturne's struggle - save but bolster her and heal her as she needs it. She herself is not much of a fighter - she had never been. She hated violence and the sight and feel of blood on her claws often made her sick to her stomach. Her hatred of blood on herself often ended up making healing difficult - but an aid or regenerate cast from long distance was just as helpful as any healing she could do via touch.

______ But her breath was not infinite and the shadelings attacking their small party were coming back in droves - had they even defeated any to begin with? Had they simply regenerated? It was hard to tell. All of them looked the same. Could they hold out? Would they need to retreat, their tails tucked between their legs and their heads bowed in defeat?

______ Robyn roared in defiance to that thought, her next eliminate tearing the shadeling before her to shreds. Those chocolate eyes burned like fire - determination and unbreakable resolve warring in that one loaded look. She took a shuddering breath, her claws trembling as she rallied her lover once more, the orange hue of her magic encasing Robyn and rejuvenating her more then it would have had the warrior been any less determined then she was.

______ But their success was not meant to be.

______ Her vision was blurring, her entire body trembling in magical and physical exhaustion, her wings having trouble keeping her aloft. She could see Robyn having the same trouble - but still, she fought, despite the wounds blossoming like cruel red roses across her body, despite how sluggish her attacks had become. They could not lose this battle. They simply couldn't.

______ They wouldn't stop coming.

______ "Robyn!" She'd cry, watching in horror as her beloved was struck from the air, blood mixing with the unforgiving rain as she tumbled to the earth far below, her pained screech mixed with a harsh cry for Ira to flee. But how was she supposed to flee with her heart tumbling to the earth, possibly dying - possibly going to die on impact?

______ Tears clouded her eyes and she was about to dart after her only to be cut off by one of the shadelings, the creature snickering grossly at her, swiping at her with long, deadly claws. She reared back, casting sear with the last bit of her breath, sending the shadeling falling to the ground below with an unholy bellow of pain as it burned. More came in it's place, however; chittering at her, taunting her, mocking her.

______ She turned and flew as fast as her tired wings could carry her. Away from the only one she cared about. Away from her entire being.

______ She didn't stop until she was somewhere inside of Plague's territory, crashing painfully to the ground when her wings could no longer carry her, ending up in a tangled, agonized heap at the feet of a Pearlcatcher.

______ "You have been through much," The Pearl said softly, one of her clawed hands touching the top of her mask, her pale eyes soft as she looked at her.

"You may stay with us, Nocturne." She invited softly, her eyes flaring brightly as magic encased her form and she was lifted from the ground, the Pearl turning and walking slowly towards the entrance to a cave she hadn't noticed when she landed.

"Until the one that holds your heart in their hands can find you again."
