Even as a hatchling, Leeora was a very bright young Fae, always at the top of her class. She had a passion for learning and was seemingly endlessly curious about the world around her. During her studies, she met a lovely young Mirror, Juniper. His shining hide glistening with a strange runic language that intrigued her. After her classes, she would often go with him to listen as he spoke about things. Things she didn't understand. He talked so strangely. Like he knew of things beyond this world, she found herself enthralled by him. They had many children together. Soon Leeora began to see a darker side to the dragon that she loved. A side that scared her. He would spend his days pacing around his chamber. He would sit in front of the fireplace, staring at the glow and mutter in a strange language she had never heard him speak before. His eyes seemed to glow and his teeth seemed sharper in those moments. He got angrier too, lashing out at her, sometimes violently, though he would always end up apologizing. Outbursts became more frequent and Leeora sent many of their children away to homes where they would be safe, but she was entangled too deep in the Mirror's web and she couldn't leave him now. Not after all they had done together. |

Eventually, Leeora realized that things were not well and decided to leave Juniper after a sudden outburst. She packed her remaining possessions and prepared to leave but on the night she left, Juniper suddenly attacked her. In her panic, she knocked over the candle next to her, letting it catch the rug on fire. Soon the fire started to spread, burning the books along with the shelves. She needed time to heal, but she didn't know how. She threw herself into her studies with a vigor to try and replace the hole that her mate had clawed out of her heart. She tried to fill the hole with homework and notebooks and pens. But she still found herself lonely and longing for that companionship and on some nights when she felt at her lowest, her thoughts strayed to darker places, places where no mind should ever go. But Leeora healed, and she began to rebuild herself from the pieces that Juniper had left behind. She remained strong and with the help of her children and friends, she felt happiness again. It wasn't long before a bright young adult came to the clan looking for sanctuary. A brilliant magician and a kind and gentle soul, he and Leeora became close. He was everything Juniper was not. Kind, considerate, and interested in what she had to say. Both were hesitant to step into a romantic relationship as neither knew what a good one was supposed to be, but they knew that if they were going to figure it out, they wanted to figure it out together. |
