Wintertale is one of the eldest members of the Clan Hedera, to the point where he's credited as being on of it's five founders (Those being: Tocks, Athena, Prys, Cerise, and himself). He's watched this ragtag group of homeless dragons weave themselves into a fine tapestry that tells the story of a clan that chose to grow, and all of it has happened under his Duress.

Wintertale is the dragon others go to when they don't ant to make a difficult decision. Someone has to be the one to say 'yes, this will be difficult. do it.' or 'yes, this will upset a few clanmates, but it's for the better. do it.' Some say that such a grip on his own morality has made him jaded, even cynical at times. And maybe to younglings who see him not as a dragon, but as a symbol of power and status and responsibility, it's true.

But he does have a small circle of confidants with whom he can relax. Mostly those are the ones he's known the longest, the aforementioned founders, as well as his lifemate Bellesia. To them he's just a boring old man with a stale sense of humor but a warm heart. Wintertale will never be the life of the party and he'll never be known for his hilarious jokes. But he can pride himself on keeping the clan moving like a well-oiled machine, and that's what matters to him.
