The position of Temple Overseer is one of great imporance. The great Shrine of the Windsinger with it's bamboo candles is the place of all ceremonies of the hatchlings.
First announcement:
when a dragon first lays, they tell the Wind Priest before any other dragon. this includes the mate. then the Wind Priest is to bless the mother and tell the father.
Hatch-day:
the biggest celebration. everyone close is to bring gifts, and each family member tells the Hatchling or hatchlings one sentence of good will. then the Wind Priest blesses them with the energy and carefree will of the wind.
Naming ceremony:
the mother and father choose a name when the hatchling is old enough to speak. the Wind Priest will announce it to the whole clan (this will be the first time the hatchling hears it, as well as the others in the clan) after, the whole clan celebrates by calling the hatchling by the name chosen.
First Flight:
the wind priest asks for good winds for a hatchlings first flight. the parents then hold the Hatchling above a pool of water (high above) and then the hatchling tries for the first time. if success, the family celebrates.
Adult hood:
the Hatchling is taken to the Null Shrine, where they will stay for several days to weeks, returning having chosen a deity and being a teen.
