Hashi

Because he is quiet, gentle and self-effacing, not a fighter like his dad, Hashi is sure that his father is disappointed in him. This is not true; Kennar is very fond of him. He likes Hashi's peaceable and warm manner, which is so much like his Caoimhe's, but is unable to really relate to him. Because Kennar's not much of a talker and Hashi doesn't like to be a bother, they have never talked about it, so this misconception continues. Caoimhe, not very observant, doesn't notice the awkwardness between father and son.

Hashi has never felt comfortable in his own skin, so he acquired another. Finding a clouddancer colony one day and admiring their beautiful plumage and their antics in the sky, (a place where he himself feels heavy and clumsy, due to his thick fur coat, heavy musculature, and un-aerodynamic body) Hashi constructed a skin for himself to match, using the clouddancers' shed feathers and fur dye acquired from a dragon merchant. He spent every day with the colony while his clan was in the area, laying among them like an extra-large clouddancer himself, making friends, and forming a particular bond with Neema, a young, friendly and cheerful female clouddancer.

While not quite up to the intelligence of dragons, clouddancers are capable of speech - if of limited subject matter - and can be very affectionate. When the clan moved on, Neema came with them, and now you hardly ever see the two of them apart.
