If there ever was a mass of contradictions, it's Sunkiss. This is a dragon who is a photographer, writer, artist, etcher, teacher, painter and screen printer.

This venerable gentleman is a diminutive bundle of energy and enthusiasm, an intriguing and often amusing combination of sunny, childlike simplicity and supreme sophistication, creator and critic, both teacher and pupil, cynic and naive, romantic and realist.

The major constant in his character is the wonder he finds through the lens of a camera. And contradictions and all, he is the very epitome of the grass roots photographer who, whether he fell into the art or was published serendipitously, found himself becoming totally absorbed by it, and has been looking through lenses with increasing passion ever since.

Success to him means enjoying one's work, doing a good job and maybe being, now and again, published or exhibited. It is also Sunkiss' claim, made with a typically contradictory mix of pride and embarrassed self-deprecation that he has more letters after his name than any other photographer in the realm. He says "It doesn't prove much except determination, obstinacy and perseverance."
