Loveletter remembered the first time his youngest sister had learned to speak.

Narcissa was her name, and she was indeed beautiful. Their mother had named her after the narcissus flower, but that name only served to remind him of her vanity.
Unlike her older brother and sister, Narcissa looked completely out of place from the family. Everyone else had light colored wings, with some sort of embellishment. Their father was even born with wings made of crystal. However Narcissa's wings were born ebony as the night sky that gave off a rainbow shine like a raven's. It was like she wasn't from this family at all.

However, Loveletter did not judge her then. He loved her every bit as much as he did the rest of his family. She was a cheerful child, who's enthusiasm made her the loudest of the group. Her favorite color was gold and black, for she thought it accented her well.

As Narcissa grew older, Loveletter began to feel some tension when it came to her and their oldest sister, Luna.

Luna was like the family's prized possession. His mother said she didn't play favorites, but he knew better. Luna was their first born anyway. His eldest sister also possessed a gift that she had had since childhood.

She was able to communicate with fairies.

When she was little, she attracted so many sprites, nymphs, moths, and butterflies, it was a wonder how she picked one familiar. And while everyone was surprised to find that she had this talent, their mother had apparently been the least surprised. From what the others in their village had said, it was almost like she had expected it.
