Fai

Fai is the mate of Inara. She's polite, if somewhat vain. She's clever, charming, but isn't of high birth. She always managed to charm her way through situations, get people to pay more or less for something, and in the case of Fai, managed to charm her way out of getting caught stealing from his families greenhouse. Yet, she dresses well enough and acts convincingly enough to be the daughter of any dignitary. He was more noble born, from lightning business important person who was a bit old fashioned. She was the child of adventurers who wanted a better sort of, settled down life style, but still with interactions and some intrigue.

Fai remembers his past well, a bored kid taking mostly classes he didnt care much for. Enjoying mechanics, though he could never work on the interesting parts "heavens no you'll get dirty". One day he was walking through a green house, and found himself bumping into a well dressed young woman carrying some items. He gots flustered (she's pretty, and charming her way out of it by playing it up. He hasn't interacted with anyone who wasnt condescending to him, or humble and helpful so her attitude is just, really startling and new and interesting), helps her up and gathers her stuff for her because thats what the good people in those books his father hated but mother adored.

Then realizes that there isnt any visiting business leader or union, and that the girl had food and a few rare plant species they were growing as a test. He wanted to find her himself, and actually managed to. But after the misadventure of tracking her down, he realized he felt more happier and far more alive than at any point in his life. And, she was pretty. He ended running away with her somewhere nicer. She helps him learn how to travel and survive without tons of money, he helps her by helping with machines (trial and error a lot). One day, at a fruit market, Inara is looking for someone to charm into giving her food for free, and approaches a certain black furred tundra no one seems to be around. To her surprise, he has a hostile looking, guard?, behind him, yet before she back pedals, he offers her a fruit, and says she looks hungry and can have it on the house. Surprised (both by him completely reading her inentions, and how kind he is) Fai gets brought over, they befriend Micah, who offers them a place to stay.
