B I O G R A P H Y

The daughter of an unseelie courtier, Aquila, originally named Lyric O'Ruaidh, spent her childhood wandering below stairs and mingling with the children of lesser faeries and other servants. Though she was trained in etiquette and eloquence, her teachers considered her something of a wildcard. One moment she could sit quietly and speak beautifully, and the next she was playing catch and flirting with the help. Her father expected her to take on his mantle as a courtier, and she wanted to rebel before that day came.

What she didn't realise, however, was that there was a second option. When she was a teen, the then-Queen Mab had announced her decision to hand the throne over to her son, Crown Prince Brenagh. The courts were a flurry of chaos and restructuring...and with it, the time to choose new Unseelie Outriders.

Lyric was just wandering the gardens as usual when she ran into Brenagh, hiding from all the attention as usual. They talked for a bit, both expressing their mutual distaste for the suffocating social expectations on their shoulders. Royalty and nobility found a common topic, and thus began their casual friendship.

Any time Queen Mab got too attached, Brenagh would sneak out and meet with her. She introduced him to her 'commoner' friends, who taught them both to hunt with bow and arrow. When Brenagh went on his first, and most important hunt, Lyric rode by his side as he struck down the alpha warg, whose pelt he wears as a headdress today.

So how could anyone possibly be surprised when he chose her as one of his three Outriders?

____Aquila soars high over the Wild Hunt, mounted upon the skittish, but faithful pegasus. With bow and arrow in hand, she can snipe even the most erratic of targets with unnatural precision. Since the kill is reserved only for the Lord himself, her shots aim to cripple or stun the prey long enough for Brenagh to catch up.

____Her calm and confident disposition have earned her the position of de facto leader among the Outriders. When Brenagh wants something done, he talks to her first; if some courtier arrives bearing bad news, Aquila will receive them first, translating their report into a statement more palatable to the court. Disorder is a foreign word to her: If the world were on fire, she would be the figure barking out orders to find water while everyone else ran around screaming.

_Personal life_

____A closet softie, Aquila adores flowers and lace, two things that many Unseelie consider 'girly'. But she doesn't care: What she does outside of the Hunt is her own business, who was anyone else to judge? On a normal day, she can be found strolling through the gardens in a frilly dress and hat, for the sole reason that 'it makes me feel pretty'. And is there really a need for any reason beyond that?
