Backstory
Slayer was born along with his sister SunRise in The Scarred Wasteland. Though it's generally in the nature of Plague dragons to be vicious, Slayer goes a bit beyond that with his morbid obsession with being able to control something's life within his claws.
It started when a hungry opportunistic rogue chanced upon the siblings while they were in the stage where they weren't fully grown, but weren't hatchlings either. The aggressor attacked the two, thinking they were going to get an easy meal (which they were mostly right about). At some point during the strife, Slayer became separated from his pearl which sent him into a frenzied panic. He got a lucky strike at the attacker's neck, and they quickly perished.
Slayer's pearl ended up rolling into a pool of blood, which Slayer frantically pulled it out of. As he tried cleaning the blood off, he suddenly had a change of mind. He rolled the pearl around in the blood which he mixed with his own mucus. When all was done, he admired the faint red tint that resulted. This day he was born anew, and he decided his purpose would be to test the limits of everything living.
