 Talva drew back his bowstring, the wind whistling in his ears. A frown tugged at his lips, and his eyes were intense. The aggressive beastclan Talonok was nearing in on him so quickly, it was just all a crazy blur.
He aimed, and let go.

Talva let out an airy breath when the arrow almost nicked the beastie in the wing but missed.
The talonok’s screech of surprise cut through the roaring wind, but it didn’t slow down.
It was now diving, quicker, more aggressive, and unpredictable.
Talva reached for another arrow and drew it back to the string. But he was too slow.

The talonok beat down on him at an alarming rate, screeching, and preparing its spear.
Both hearts beating like drums, bared teeth, thunderous anger, blows from the spear stung his scales, shielding his eyes as not to go blind. But the blows suddenly stopped.

Talva opened his eyes to see his enemy on the ground, arrow in its chest, and the quiver in his talons. A surprised, but a pleasant smile crossed his face, and thanking Plaguebringer, he took to the trees for shelter that night. Before any of its flock found the body, He was already long gone.
