Biography

Grem

There's an odd one in every bunch.

Hatched into a mass confusion of lightning dragons loading volunteers into a cannon aimed at fire (or something like that), crept away for calmer climes and never looked back.

Affectionately known as "Pasty." Solomundee theorizes that, if he ever had any color, the bacteria-riddled muck he crawled through on his way out of the Plaguelands stripped it away. Prefers remaining covered in mud/sand/mulch/leaf litter/whatever groundcover's around whenever he's outside the lair for camouflage because he's a twitchy paranoid little thing any time anything hostile's nearby he's certain it always goes for him first.

As his lairmates object to this practice strongly enough to forcibly scrub him off wherever an opportunity arises despite his own vehement protestations, he's also taken to disguising himself as... something. Or possibly several somethings at once, given the horns, feathers, fur, bone, hide, leaves and gauze. (Stickybeak votes nochnyr. Amateria suggests cheap talonok costume, and Tigris swears it's an exact representation of something no one else has ever heard of called erlkonig.)

Not a strong flier, though it doesn't quite make sense why; his wings and muscles work perfectly, he just throws himself into the wind as if he ought to be bigger, heavier, so gusts toss him around like a toy. His lairmates have taken to mooring balloons to him whenever they go out, not because it helps but because it makes him easier to spot to retrieve. (He objects strenuously to this precaution and always wriggles loose as fast as possible.)

Tends to crawl, climb or cling more than fly, especially when camouflaged, as acrobatics lead to shedding. Spends a fair amount of time stewing organic bits in the cauldron in attempt to find something the right blue (and stickiness) to camouflage in the sky, interrupted by dragons investigating the new paints.

Tests paints with his fingers, which he usually then wipes off on his wings. Legion's record for self-restraint between noticing this affront and pouncing on him to blend the smears into something beautiful is almost three and a half entire minutes. Legion's record for self-restraint at the destruction of yet another painting the next time Grem rolls in mud is currently ongoing.
