Uh-oh, looks like this butterfly dreamer wandered a little too far from her home lair (Starrydance), and now she's off to find her place! Growing up a slave isn't exactly the best childhood. However, growing up a slave prophet is a bit of a different experience. Her upbringing only allowed her to eat the plants that grew through the cracks of their current location and once escaped, she grew to enjoy the taste of meat. She knows it's something her people will never experience and feels a little shame knowing that. Hope was going to be the dragon's salvation. She was going to free her family and many others from the clutches of slavery and abuse. She was the one prophecised for so long, the one every dragon had heard about and believed in for centuries. Her name was directly related to this; she was everyone's hope for freedom. For a new life. For happiness. "You'll know when it's time." Hope was always told. She was going to know exactly when to escape and how, whether it was her having powers bestowed onto her to overthrow the dragons above them or granting her people the power of invisibility temporarily, her powers were unclear. Hope never felt any different and grew up very stressed and easily agitated. She had a lot of pressure on her shoulders and her people were growing restless. They wanted to escape. She wanted to escape. But Hope knew the prophecy was garbage and that she could never set her people free. Death. Lots of it. When she told her people it was time to leave, she was the only one who managed to escape, their captors letting her people watch as the Imperial slipped away, giving them a sense of hopelessness. Hope was never their prophet, she wasn't to lead them to greatness or to overcome disease or anything of the sort. She was to escape on her own, and her own only. Ever since, Hope has been plagued with nightmares of her people finding her and murdering her for her escape. She still thinks about them as she wanders aimlessly, restlessly, looking for a place to settle down. Their shocked and betrayed faces appearing at every corner in the dark night. "What made me any different?" |
