Hester has been with his familiar Jabari for as long as he has been a part of the clan. Jabari knows Hester like the back of his hand (underside of his hoof? No matter), even better than Hester's partner Longshen. Hester spoils Jabari, but he also puts him to work as an apprentice of sorts. Jabari is a catacomb of information; Hester shares all his findings with his Qiriq and holds him in the highest regard.

Of course, Hester values Longshen the same way. They have known each other just as long and been together since they took their places as clan heads.
