Behind the imposing stature and build of this Ridgeback lies an easygoing giant. More often than not, all Kakkab wants is to gulp down his Wetland Vampires in peace, perfect his sculpting or carving skills, taking naps with Marko, his Zeeba Familiar, or simply spending time with his beloved mate, Cerena. However, he will not back down from the call of duty to defend the lair he built, and the clan that took him in. Dragons that go back on promises and truces made have often found themselves at his mercy, faces merely centimeters away from Kakkab's venomous spines or sharp horn (for which he is often teased by clanmates Ignition or Moses).

As the designer of the clan's lair, Kakkab knows its every nook, cranny, trick, and trap. Thanks to channels through which resources (such as fresh water for his non-Plague clanmates) can be obtained with ease, the Swarm is near self-sufficient. Knowledge derived from years of surviving and navigating the Scarred Wasteland's perilous environment helped him in mapping out the tunnels and caverns.

As one of the largest dragons of the clan, and for immediate access to the tunnels and untapped earth, Kakkab's personal chambers are located in the deepest subterranean boundaries of the lair. Roots, treated and drained, from the surface of the Wandering Contagion functioned as pipes plugged directly into the seafood stores in order for Kakkab to simply scratch at wall, ceiling, or ground for a whole fish to appear. Most of the walls and the flooring are covered with Fuiran hide for molting days; a section of the wall is occasionally coated with powdered Fungalhoof Qiriq Horn to enhance the poison his spines secrete.
