Backstory
Duskshadow was born in a Plague clan, and was sent to the auction house when she had barely regurgitated her pearl. She was accidentally placed in the wrong room and ended up in the same basket with Riannon, a Water-element Ridgeback. They were both only a few hours old and already abandoned by their tribes, and they became friends almost immediately. Riannon was selected by Blade to become a new Galerider dragon, but they refused to be separated and he decided to buy both of them, as the Galerider clan had no Pearlcatcher dragons. She also convinced Stonescale to buy her brother, Specklefur, who soon settled in with the clan. She made a nest with Riannon and became the clan's hatchling-watcher.

Combat
Duskshadow is not very combative, preferring to stay in the den and play with hatchlings. However, she maintains the minimum Level 5 standard of the Galerider clan. Being a Pearlcatcher, she manipulates the surrounding energy and directs it in bursts that bruise and stun enemies. She often fights side by side with her brother, Specklefur.

Personality + Hobbies
Duskshadow, although a Plague dragon, is caring and nurturing. She attributes this to the fact that her parents were a Wind and a Nature dragon, not Plagueborn. She is playful and often tussles with the hatchlings. She is the only member of the clan that is present at every hatching. She watches the nests carefully, feeding, watching, and playing with chicks when their parents are absent. Under her watchful eye, none have been hurt. She will lie on the ground and watch them chase her tail-tip all across the nursery. She will adopt bought and found chicks unhesitatingly.

However, when she is with other adult dragons, her playful side wanes slightly. She has learned that dragons will be cruel, and is intelligent enough to maneuver other clan members. She is always wary of other dragons, except Riannon and Specklefur. This has led to the theory that this is why she likes being with the chicks so much: they are innocent and have never been malicious. Other dragons must work hard to earn her trust.

She comforts Riannon when the fierce Ridgeback needs it- one does not fight so much unscathed. She tells her friend what she needs to know- that she and her skills are needed and an integral part of the clan. Together, the two balance each other out.

The only way she isn't generous with the chicks is with her pearl; she doesn't let anyone near it.

She has an ongoing friendly argument with Specklefur about how much fur is enough. As a Pearlcatcher, she has a mane, and tufts on her limbs and tail- far less than her Tundra brother. She calls him ‘hairy’ and he calls her ‘baldy’.

Familiar:
Duskshadow's familiar is a Water Sprite that found the clan during the Wavecrest Saturnalia. Its name is Selkie and it enjoys playing with the hatchlings. It can sense when they are about to hatch, and often calls Duskshadow over. It and Duskshadow don't talk much, but instead prefer companionable silence.
