Songbird is a kind and loving dragon. She is very caring and on the playful side, but she is a bit shy. Her job in Ventus Corda is taking care of the familiar.


Before she arrived, the responsibility of extra familiars was shared, which all changed one day when a little blue coatl hatchling arrived. Immediately the extra familiars started to gravitate towards her. She soon adopted the role of Familiar Caretaker after going up to Pixal and asking to make it an official role. Pixal happily agreed and gave Songbird this new role.

Eventually, familiars weren't the only ones gravitating towards and giving attention to Songbird. The clan alchemist, Terra grew close to Songbird, resulting in them dating. Her favorite familiar, the leftover residue she nicknamed "Bloo", was given to her by Terra when Songbird discovered it after one of her girlfriend's experiments. Though she has recently taken in a sick and injured maned cerdae to help nurse it back to health. Terra and Songbird share a large den and it is covered in alchemy stuff and flowers, their friends often wonder how they get along so well even though they have such differentiating interests.

Like her name would imply, Songbird has a beautiful voice, but due to her shyness she barely ever sings when she knows anyone else is around. The only exception to this is Terra. Since her girlfriend is an insomniac, Songbird will sing to her to help her fall asleep during nights where her insomnia is acting up.

Along with taking care of the familiars, Songbird loves gardening. Her and Terra's den is covered in potted plants. From tiny fruit trees to flowers, Songbird has quite a collection. She, Cereus, and Cormag have a friendly competition to see whose garden is the best. They are known in the clan as the "Garden Trio", after Kaunotar jokingly called them that and it stuck. Everyone was surprised one day when even Pixal called them that during a clan meeting.

Despite being a Wind dragon by birth, Songbird is quite skilled in Nature magic. She actually was born in the Viridian Labyrinth. During a storm, her egg rolled out of her nest, and blew far away from it. She was found by a traveling Natuer dragon who brought her home with him. After she hatched, the dragon realized he didn't have the room to care for the small hatchling as she grew older and contacted Smaragds, who he had met on his travels. While Smaragds made the journey to get Songbird, the dragon taught a young Songbird some Nature magic. After arriving in Ventus Corda, she continued her studies.

Despite her name, Songbird can't sing. Well, she can, but she is extremely shy. She will often sneak out of the lair to go sing in private. Insomniacs and hatchlings up past their bedtime will be sung to sleep by her soft, lilting, voice. It can be a bit annoying to those trying to work, but they can't stay mad for long, they needed the rest anyways.
