Role: Warden/Harvester Other: Takes care of Phantom Descendant of Naomi: Naomi > Willow > Glitch > Grave Personality: + Gets annoyed easily (especially with the clans puns) + Doesn't really show his emotions through expression but rather his tones and actions. + Witty and oddly charming + Can be dangerous(attempts to use magic, but it's quite glitchy which lands him in some unusual/potentionally deadly situations) + Likes to experiment with genes About: Grave came to the clan as a hopeful and curious little ball of excitement. He played with the other hatchlings and spent time with Kynra and Snaff until he grew into a teenager. He remained friends with Kynra and Snaff as well as many others in the clan but he began to spend more time alone. Most chalked it up to him just being a teenager. This only lasted until he began playing around with magic. Grave had little magic ability and tried to do things he was physically incapable of doing. He would get himself in trouble often and always needed someone to help him out. Eventually he began to experiment with genes after speaking with the scientists about how they are able to change the genes of other dragons. They only ever messed with genes regarding colors and skin patterns/textures. He wanted to do more but the scientists warned him that it would be a horrible idea. Being the arrogant young dragon he was he merely brushed off their concerns as cowardice and began to experiment with small creatures. |
At first he didn't really know what he wanted to do. He studied the animals and their genes but continued to try magic. And continued to fail. Mixing magic with genes was something that came to him one day as he failed once again at time travel. What if he could somehow tie the ability to travel through time to a gene. Make a permanent natural trait. A new species of dragon that could travel though time. The idea deeply excited him and he spent weeks doing research, attempting to master time travel and gathering subjects. He got really wrapped up in his work but still managed to make time for the various clan members to came to check on him and hang out. Grave never really had any responsibilities until Paragon brought to him a tiny hatchling. He set the little one down in front of Grave and said, "this is Phantom. He's your cousin. He needs you." He didn't need to say anything more. Grave looked down at the little red eyed boy and scooped him up. He raised Phantom to be a better dragon than he and tried to keep Phantom out of his gene work. Phantom was too curious about his cousins work though and learned what he was up to. Grave expected him to be upset but he wasn't. He wanted to help but Grave wouldn't let him. Eventually Phantoms persistence paid off and Grave deeply regrets ever giving in. |

'The Time Traveler'

Subject 1: Ordinary grey mouse
Goal is to turn ordinary subject into a being with the ability to travel through time. This will be done by weaving time magic properties throughout the subjects genes making his abilities (and the abilities of his offspring) entirely natural.
Attempting to change Subject 1's genes while Subject 1 is still living. Use of magic needed.
Attempt failed due to scientist error.

(The entries all have the same result with the subjects changing from mice to turkeys to deceased and then living dragons.
That is until the very last entry.)
Subject 1,346: Male Pearlcatcher. Unusual.
Side note: Has spectacular genetic potential for.. Something. I am not sure what.

Mostly failed? The subject seems to be responding which is more than I can say for the last attempts.
Success! Finally. Subjects vitals are good and he appears to be doing fine. Mentally and physically intact. A little fine tuning should make this subject perfect.
Subject is far to eager to let himself recover. Need to keep an eye on him.
Fine tuning failed. Subjects abilities are.. Wrong. Subject can travel through time(or dimensions or maybe even limbo, not sure which) although it can no longer be controlled.
Subjects left leg disappeared but was still there somehow. I thought maybe it was invisible. Subject had not knowledge of the missing limb and could still use it. My arm went right through as if it weren't there.
Leg returned only minutes later and seemed fine.
Must keep an eye on subject. Vitals are good.
Subjects body parts have begun to randomly disappear and reappear regularly. This does not seem to effect him at all.
Subject is perfectly fine but it would seem I've turned him into a glitchy time traveler.
I noticed a sort of 'doppelganger' of the subject. Subjects left leg disappeared and appeared a few feet away. Subject had stood there yesterday whilst we spoke. The leg moved inline with current subject. When throwing dirt over the area around the leg it revealed this 'doppelganger'. Still couldn't touch it.
Subject now completely disappears for brief periods of time. I dont know what happens or where he goes. One minute he's standing in front of me telling a story and the next he's screaming as his body begins to separate in rectangular chunks. He glows a bright pink and just disappears. His blood curling scream echoes through my head. It all happens in the blink of an eye. It's like he's being painfully ripped out of time and space for a brief moment.
I was touching his arm as he disappeared the other day. I felt his pain. It was.. Horrible. No. It was worse than that. I disappeared with him in the same painful way he does. I dont know where we went. I couldn't even open my eyes. The pain was too much.
I can't reverse what's been done as it would result in the subjects death. He has a pink almost glow about him. I don't know how long it will last. And since I disappeared with him the other day, so do I. My pink glow is different than his. Subject will remain this way for the rest of his life. As the one who messed him all up, I will care for him. He is still young and has much to learn. The clan is angry with me but they still love him. And that's what's important. I know some may forgive me in time, but I understand if they don't. At least he doesn't hate me. Maybe someday I can fix this.
I'm so sorry, Phantom.
Self changes
It would seem my colours are.. changing. I don't know what's happening or how this will affect me. There's really nothing I can do about it. I don't even know what colours I will end up being. Maybe my colours will continuously change throughout my whole life. I will log all the changes here so I can keep track. Along with any side effects.Just so I don't forget my true colours, I was White, Ultramarine and Shadow.
First complete change. My colours are... less than ideal. I'm not sure I like this at all. Latte, Yellow and Lavender?
Thank the Void, they seem to shifting already.
Second complete change. This change came quite quickly after the last. It's not.. terrible.
Fuschia, Cream and Peacock. I just don't really like being bright pink. And Peacock? It really doesn't go with.. wait.. this is a scientific journal not a fashion magazine.
Back to science. I figured out how to tell when the colour change is coming on. My skin starts to burn a little before and continues throughout the change. Feels fine now. Might be awhile before the next change happens. I really hope not though. This is.. not ideal either.
Third change complete. This one took a little longer but here it is. Hickory, Blush and Rust. Definitely better than the other two. I'm not really fond of Hickory but for now, I don't mind this.
Fourth change is now complete. Honestly, I kind of hope this stays. I'm tired of my colours changing. I can feel my skin doing something but I'm not sure what. It feels different than the colour changes. I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens.
