Biography

Dacerie is an outgoing and friendly hatchling caretaker. He is a native of the Amber City but has visited the Windswept Plateau and the shores of the Sea of One Thousand Currents on hunting trips. Independent from a young age, Dacerie has always been responsible for maintaining his family's household- and he's handy in the kitchen, too. Although he was schooled as all noble children are, he chose to focus instead on becoming a warrior like his father.

Two months after coming of age and being deemed capable of hunting alone, Dacerie was attacked and overwhelmed by a Featherback Boar. Although he defeated the beast, he broke his spine and lost mobility in his rear legs and tail.

Forced into early retirement, Dacerie became anxious about his future in the clan. He found a new purpose in life in the hatchlings' chambers as a caretaker. His father, a well-traveled warrior, commissioned an engineer from the Tempest Spire to make a wheeled mobility aid that would allow Dacerie to keep up with the clan's many rambunctious hatchlings. Dacerie also has a simple wooden mobility aid that he uses when roughhousing with the hatchlings. Dacerie's familiar is also trained to help him with simple tasks and to act as a support when he's not using his wheels.

He is an heir to the throne but strongly desires to abdicate. Dacerie prefers to live modestly and feels awkward among his fellow nobles; likewise, the nobility do not see Dacerie or his father as true peers due to their preoccupation with martial skills and so-called "lowly" pursuits. He suffered when he lost his original purpose; finding himself again granted him greater perspective on what he values and changed his priorities. He is now dedicated to watching over the clan's hatchlings, an avocation he sees as more personally worthwhile than ruling.
