The reclusive inventor

B I O G R A P H Y

Despite being the oldest of the leaders' hatchlings, Verlen was born weak and fragile, surviving the first night after his hatching was a miracle. Surviving the rest of his days would not be any easier.

Ashamed of himself for being weak and pathetic, despite hailing from the great war-mother Lilypad, Verlen pushed himself to his breaking point multiple times, though it always amounted to nothing. No matter how hard he fought, how high he flew, how much he reveled in the joys of battle, he could never bring down an opponent using his own force alone.

His only comfort in his ails was his sister, Aurora. The two were conjoined at the hip, always spending time together and pushing each other forth. Aurora was the one to suggest that Verlen finds his passion like she did, maybe if he discovered his charge his path would be a little clearer. Verlen only grew more lonesome and bitter overtime, snapping at his clanmates and denying any offer of help or friendship, he would not let himself be weak

B I O G R A P H Y

In an effort to make himself powerful, Verlen turned to cogs and steam, creating wondrous machines to help himself in battle and finally impress their mother. It wasn't until he had finally pinned his sister down during one of their sparring matches that Verlen realized he had found his charge, machinery
Verlen turned his gaze away from the joys of battle and instead focused on his inventions, spending countless hours foraging for trinkets for his latest project. Aurora was overjoyed that her brother finally found his charge, and gladly helped him in his projects. Somehow, the two grew even closer together through this, Verlen even gifting his sister a beautiful, brash telescope so she could observe the stars.
However, this peaceful period didn't hold for long. When Noctordra, their adopted sibling, joined the clan, Aurora shifted her attention to him instead, leaving Verlen alone. The first few times, Verlen ignored it, but with each passing day, he grew harsher and more hostile, even to his own sister. He was deathly jealous of all the attention Noctordra was receiving, and so he turned away from them and focused even more on his inventions, refusing to even look at his sister anymore.
To this day, Verlen wonders if he will ever be able to let go of his hate and mend his relationship with his siblings
