Biography
Zephyr.
In the eye of a hurricane
There is quiet
For just a moment
A yellow sky
Faced with the traumas of wandering too close to the hurricanes that often sped across the landscape, Zephyr lived a hard yet peaceful life. He often danced around the spiraling winds, taunting the storms. He and his siblings crafted bamboo chimes, to warn them of the hazardous winds.
When I was seventeen a hurricane
Destroyed my town
I didn't drown
I couldn't seem to die
It was the middle of the night when the storm hit. The Nightwatch had just dozed off, and nobody heard the dangerous ringing of the chimes. Everything was gone in a matter of seconds. Dragons were thrown everywhere, nests and eggs scattered, never to be found, and the home that Zephyr had spent his life in was now gone, lost to the winds.
I wrote my way out
Wrote everything down far as I could see
I wrote my way out
I looked up and the town had its eyes on me
Zephyr awoke in the middle of a field with a Skydancer standing over him, smiling kindly. He was taken to a small temporary shelter and was greeted by another Skydancer and a pair of familiars. He spent his days when them, telling stories and helping them with their experiments. One morning, Zephyr was awoken rather abruptly by his new friends. A Gusting Goblin stood in the doorway of their temporary home, wind spiraling around it.
They passed a plate around
Total strangers
Moved to kindness by my story
Raised enough for me to book passage on a
Ship that was New York bound…
“The Windsinger wishes to have an audience.” Zephyr could see the panic in his friend’s eyes. Nevertheless, he followed the goblin straight towards the Twisting Crescendo. Arriving at the edge of the swirling winds, the goblin gestured for him to go on, into the storm. Hesitantly, Zephyr took his first steps into the winds. To his surprise, the winds parted as he walked. The goblin followed at his heels.
In the eye of a hurricane

A yellow sky
There was a flat plain in the eye of the storm; and there the Windsinger sat, fiddling with a set of bells. Bells that made the same noise that the chimes had that fateful day so many years ago. Wind Sprites floated around him, chattering excitedly and pointing at the confused Skydancer. As Zephyr was about to speak up, the deity turned, silencing the bells in his claws.
”I have been watching you. I know what you have gone through. Come closer, my son, and let me bestow upon you a blessing for the hardships that you have endured.”
Wait for it, wait for it, wait for it…
The Windsinger said nothing. After a few moments, he handed Zephyr a satchel containing herbs, the bells, and bid him on his way. The winds parted again and he walked through, the goblin staying behind. As he left the winds, he found his friends and together, they traveled to the clan many have heard rumors about; the Clan of the Sweeping Desolation.
I'll write my way out…
Overwhelm them with honesty
This is the eye of the hurricane, this is the only
Way I can protect my legacy…
What the Windsinger gave Zephyr was more than a sack of herbs and bells; he gave the Skydancer wind magic, a powerful method of creating illusions, levitating objects, and other dangerous abilities. He had made a scarf out of the bells, and it fuels his magic and his devotion to the Windsinger. His wings changed, and they became those similar to those of a damselfly. Shedding his feathers, Zephyr was a new dragon, though no different than what he had been all those years ago, the night the storm hit. He was welcomed into the clan, and acts as the wind representative. He remains best friends with Poseidon and Alva, the Skydancers who had been kind to him before.
History has its eyes on me…
