Fide

Fide means “faith” in Latin. It is in the ablative form, so a more literal translation would be “by faith” or “with faith.” Fide and his sister Spe work very closely with ChocolateChip and Cookie. The Snappers see to it that young dragons’ education is taken care of, whereas the two Bogsneaks offer more in terms of emotional support, guidance, and advice. It can be challenging for a young dragon to figure out their place in the world, whether that be fulfilling a role in a clan, or off to serve one of the 11 deities of Sornieth.

Fide recognizes that adolescence is a time of many trials, and more often than not equally as many mistakes. As he encounters them, he won’t hesitate to broach the topic with the dragons who made them, in his patient, gentle way. He is fairly good at reading others, and so will see through excuses or the transferring of blame, but his goal isn’t to condemn or lecture. Fide believes that, when done with love, correcting and teaching his young mentees to take the right path (especially when it isn’t easy) helps with character building in a way that few other things can.
