The first thing you would notice about Mekakushi is the absense of eyes. It's not that she really lacks them, they're properly in place and not damaged, but for her they're as useless as hollow gaps in skull. Mekakushi can't see at all - healers of the clan tried to look into this matter, but it turned out that medicine is unable to help her - Mekakushi was blinded by strong Plague magic, which contaminated her egg while she was still a hatchling at Arcane nesting grounds. Growing up blind, Mekakushi adapted to everything just fine - typically for Skydancer, she was feeling the flows of magic around her just fine, and this ability was multiplied by the absense of vision as well. The only thing that somehow gives her away is the caution with which she steps and the way she tilts her head while talking to someone, trying to make an eye contact and horribly failing each time. Getting tired of this, Mekakushi decided to wear a blindfold - and she even boasted about how cool she would look with it.
She's pure at heart and always does her best, even if she needs to try much harder than anyone else to succed even at simple tasks. However, Mekakushi hates being pitied and would never complain herself, even to her closest friends, often irritating her mate Nergal with this.
