  Valentine comes from a nomadic light clan, born in a clutch of three, with a guardian sister and a fae brother. Due to circumstance, Valentine never got to know her siblings or parents very well. Valentine was put up adoption, along with her siblings. Rebellion was the one who saw her listing. Something about the little dracling struck a soft point in Rebellion, so she and her mate Requiem paid the fee and went to collect baby Valentine. They were the one who gave her her name, since valentine's day was her date of birth. Valentine cried a lot as a dracling, not helped by the fact that no one was really available to stay and look after her all day since all claws were required to get the swarm up and running. Eventually Requiem organized working shifts to make sure someone was at home with Valentine at all times, and she regained a somewhat normal childhood.

Don't trust Valentine's gorgeous pink appearance, charmingly sweet name, and beguiling light eyes. Valentine is more dedicated to spreading plague and disease than anyone else in the clan. She relishes living in the wandering contagion, where the border of plague encroaches on the territory of other flights, and objects to any suggestions to move the swarm's location more inland. Valentine loves to fight and scavenge for treasures, sunbathe, and chew on bones. She is viciously loyal to her swarm who adopted her.
