Biography

FORGET THIS BREEDING PROJECT I'M KEEPING YOU.

"Hey." One of the interns had walked back into the lab where the other two were on break. "Orders from the boss to bring one of the demons. The weakest and least threatening."

"Does he need the Charge too?" the female intern asked, scratching an arm lazily.

"Nah, that's why he wanted the weakest. He's gonna vivisect them to see how demons work inside. Since he missed out the first time, remember how he said he had to fire a guy before hiring us? The one who went ahead without his orders and didn't bother to wait for the boss to get back from his weeklong conference?" He paused. "So which is the least threat?"

"The blue one" and "not the yellow one" echoed into the space at the same time. The oldest intern chuckled.

"You guys read my mind. Let's go get him."

The trio left the room, turning off the fluorescents and leaving the room to flicker into darkness.

A few moments later, Bill and Dipper heard a voice with an accent screaming.

"MABEL! NO LET GO!" It was Dot and he sounded desperate.

"Be quiet, otherwise your throat will be the first thing to be dissected," a voice taunted before the cries died down as he was dragged away, leaving the halls silent once more.

The room where the vivisection had taken place was hard to find. The halls were a labyrinth, rather like the one in the underworld but white rather than charcoal.

When he did find the room...

The first thing that was apparent was the open, shallow tank in the center of the room. And the stench of preserving fluids. The tank, of course, held the lanky body of Dot Matrix.

There was enough formaldehyde, laced through with red blood, to just submerge the dead demon. The scientists hadn't even bothered to remove his clothes before they had torn into him. His waistcoat was still around his arms, though his shirt was in bloody tatters. His left pants leg had been torn off at the knee so they could cut into his lower leg.

One of his blue eyes had been cut out, leaving a bloody mess behind, signifying they'd probably done it while his heart was still beating. The other one they hadn't even bothered to close, and formaldehyde had caused it to cloud over. Even so, it was wide and looked scared, though his face had been arranged to seem impassive.

Blood was concentrated at the back of his head where they'd cut it open to inspect his brain, blessedly after he had died.

But his front... From throat to stomach he was an open book. His entire inner structure had been bared to the world. Some pieces were even missing: stomach, sternum, heart...

One of his arms and his lower leg had been cut open lengthwise to show the red muscles and flesh.

He was a mess.

On the counter nearby... Jars of multicolored fluid. Each held a different body part. A blue filled jar labeled HEART, one filled with a sickly yellow liquid labeled FLAT BONE SAMPLE and many more. One small jar, filled with clear fluid had been opened near a dissection table. Dot's eye, cut in half, was pinned to the table.

The glimmering blue layer inside had been removed, stretched out, and pinned down. A hastily jotted note on some lab paper nearby: It appears demons posses the tapidem lucidem like a nocturnal creature. The shining blue caught the light... Like Dot's living eyes had.

Another note. Extremely strange pupil shape. Are all demon eyes unique? Try to collect more samples?

More notes were scattered nearby, each showing one horrific observation or another.

Stomach seems smaller than usual, and rather unused. Maybe I can force the subject to answer some questions when he's next coherent.

Upon dissecting the stomach, it was mainly empty with just a rather large amount of liquid. Some residual solid food. Do demons eat? Add to list of questions to ask test subject.

Subject is unable to speak coherently even after much persuasion. Pity, really.

We've moved on to the lower leg for some muscle dissection. Disappointing, not much different from human. A couple of the others are still working on the digestive system, taking samples from intestines and such. I'm getting a bone marrow sample from this shin I'm working on. Subject is being sustained mainly with supplement shots to keep it alive. No longer conscious or coherent, but babbles about the little girl and another demon in its delirium.

It died today when we cut open the skin over the throat and chest cavity. Just a great big shudder then nothing. It only lived through two days of testing, a big pity. Still, we get to dissect the heart and lungs now.

We finally get to take a peek at the brain! Man I'm so excited!

It was like the words Dot's charge once has scribbled onto a silly drawing earlier that summer...
