↠ Ruling Queen

"A Ruler without contest. Adorned with thorns and roses, fastened deep into her scales, she rules fairly and justly. Born of Plague but blessed by Light, duality lives in her very being. Horror lurks in her past, before her memories could be formed. A fate worse than death fell her home. But she is determined to give hope and second chances to the dragons around her."

A queen who has ruled from a young age, she is ruled by two flights. Marhena hails from Plague, but never set foot in her home flight territory. Despite her age, she has ruled this clan she helped found and build with dignity and grace. Kind and fair, she is welcoming to outsiders, willing to look past things and offer second chances to those who she believes deserves it. After all, she and her small family were gifted a second chance from Lightweaver, why should she not gift that to others? She will never turn a blind eye to a dragon in need, and has offered her clan as a place for weary dragons to stay on more than one occasion. Her stubbornness is second to none, and once she has her mind set on something, it is near impossible to deter her from it. While she relies on and trusts her Council heavily, she holds the opinions of dragons she is very close to well above others. Pure of heart and intention, Marhena would give her life to protect the dragons in her clan. But despite that, she is far from irrational. She approaches every obstacle, every decision, every problem with a calm and level head. She is always prepared to face whatever life decides to throw at her. She is revered and loved by her clan, some of whom would follow her to the ends of Sornieth if she asked. But, there is a deep-seated worry and doubt planted deep inside of her. Failure is her greatest fear. Failing herself, failing her clan, and failing her family. She simply hopes to be a fraction of the Queen her mother once was.

Marhena never got the chance to know her home clan, or even her birth parents. They had all died in The Collapse, which left her old home in ruins. Only three survivors remained: Marhena, her brother Zeno, and their foster mother, Amaia. She and Zeno were hatched a few wing beats away from The Sea of a Thousand Currents. A long, perilous journey lay before them. And though they gathered a few other dragons into their group, they faced trial and tribulation on their journey to a new home. And when they arrived, they were greeted with a blessing from Lightweaver: an Oracle of Light, who was guided by Lightweaver herself to show them to a place where they could be granted a second chance. Together, the group founded The Radiant Thunder, and rather unanimously made Marhena the ruler of their new clan. It has continued to prosper under her guidance and care, growing in size and reputation.

Marhena is a social and kind dragon, but despite that, the only dragons she is really close to is a small group. This group is comprised of the dragons she traveled with, and who were at her side when they founded The Radiant Thunder. She has an inseparable bond with her foster mother and brother, often going to them for advice when she is undecided on things. Rasul is her closest advisor. She trusts his words from Lightweaver and relies on him for reassurance that they are following the path of Light. She makes it her job to know every dragon in the clan so that she may have a better understanding of her clan and what they need. She will always have a soft spot for her partner, relishing in his gentleness and the gifts he often gives her as an escape from the pressures of leadership. But, he prefers to stay clear out of royal duties, leaving Marhena to be the clear, sole ruler of the clan. She does her best to be a present mother to her three children, encouraging them to follow whatever path their hearts desire. She is molding Thema to be her heir, training her and teaching her to be an even better Queen than she is.
