Zeno
↠ Master and Commander of the Royal Guard

"A towering being, a reckoning force of nature. His rippling blue form, plated with golden armor, are not something one would wish to meet on the battlefield. Commanding leader of the royal guard and devoted to those of his clan. He is not to be crossed, or to be ignored, for the safety of his clanmates, and his family, is something he would not hesitate to die, or kill, for."

Royal blood runs through his veins, but Zeno has never been driven by the desire to serve it. His path always led down the road of protection. Though he serves under his sister in a clan of Light, he bears the deep red eyes of Plague. He cares not for such matters. Blessings, and curses, of Gods do not concern this Guardian. His focus has always been the safety and wellbeing of the dragons he swore to protect. Zeno is a very serious dragon, facing things with a calm mind so that he may make his decisions as rationally as possible. He exudes an intimidating aura, often stalking about with a scowl set on his face, eyes watching for something, anything, to threaten his home. Many, especially dragons who are new to The Radiant Thunder, fear him because of this. He is far more skeptical of newcomers and makes it his personal job to keep them under a close watch until they are proven to be loyal and trustworthy. His desire to focus on rationality has caused him to habitually bottle his emotions deep, deep down. He rarely speaks of hurt feelings, of pain and anguish, of any of the dark emotions that bubble and churn within his soul. He has never allowed himself to grieve the family he never met. His focus was always here, now, and ensuring the safety of the family he does have. He has found himself expressing these emotions the only way he can: through combat. Training, fighting, or even venting his feelings with a hammer against metal. He is usually not reckless, but if he is consumed by anger, he can act very irrationally. Buried under his brooding nature and hardened heart lies a soft and gentle soul. Only a few dragons have been lucky enough to see his fragile, tender side. Just as few have been unfortunate enough to see his fury when someone he loves is threatened.

Much like his sister, Zeno never got the chance to meet his birth family, or see the clan in which they ruled. He had only hatched days after The Collapse, which left behind only three survivors: Zeno, his sister, Marhena, and their newfound foster mother, Amaia. In fact, the truth behind their birth clan was left in mystery for quite some time. Amaia simply led them from their makeshift camp not too far from The Sea of a Thousand Currents and on a journey that would test their physical strength and mental fortitude. Gathering other dragons along the way, light began to be shed on the mysteries of their former home, drawing the three closer over time. After arriving within the Sunbeam Ruins and meeting the Oracle of Light, Zeno quickly took his place as the head of the royal guard within their newly named clan: The Radiant Thunder.

Despite his difficult to approach personality, Zeno has a close bond with several dragons within the clan. He is incredibly close to his sister and their foster mother, as well as the three dragons that they traveled with to arrive to the Sunbeam Ruins. He will often check on all of them, ensuring they are well taken care of. Even if they request for him to do something that he doesn't particularly enjoy, such as watch plays or help garden. So long as they are happy, so is Zeno. He does, however, still enjoy hearing stories from Amaia. He has a general like and respect for Rasul, despite not fully understanding the nature of the Oracle of Light. Dragons are generally surprised when they realize that Zeno's partner is the soft and sweet Mai. But the two dragons are inseparable, and Mai has helped him begin to better understand his deeper emotions. Zeno is a stern father, but he always has the best intentions behind his sometimes blunt words. He is incredibly proud of them and what they have grown to become.
