“Why is Petalbane in charge? Shes not the oldest, or the strongest… is she the meanest?”
“Give it a rest kid, please.” Hemlock groaned at Vineway, eyes rolling back in his head. “We’ve been on patrol all morning and i swear if i get one more question about why the sky is blue im going to feed you to the Behemoth.” Vineway pouted.
“I just wanted to know…” he sulked, but kept pace with his larger companion.
“Look, sorry kid, i didnt mean to snap at you. Its been a long morning.” Hemlock stopped in a small clearing and sat down, gesturing for the spiral to sit next to him. “Petalbane is absolutely the meanest, nastiest, moodiest dragon ive ever met.” He began, with a chuckle. “But thats not why shes in charge. She doesnt like to talk about her old clan, but from what i heard, she started a revolt.” Vineways eyes got wide.
“Really?? Thats so cool! What happened? What did she do??” Hemlock sighed at him.
“No one knows kid, just that she wasnt welcome back after. Now please, enough questions. A less patent dragon would have taken your tail clean off by now.” Hemlock stood and continued their patrol route.
“But wait!” Vineway scurried after him. “I’m a spiral! Where does my tail start? Or are you just going to take everything but my head? Or maybe…”
