Biography

Hanabi and her sister Ashes were not born into an easygoing life— they were born as the start of their parents' grand clan in the Ashfall Waste. For a long while the clan consisted of only the four of them: Honoo, ForestFire, and the two children: Hanabi and Ashes. It was difficult, but not due to oppression or danger; it was difficult because they were only starting out. Yes, the beast clans were bothersome, but Honoo and Fire managed to keep them at bay and away from their young children. The real threat was finding food, and a safe source of food at that. Any Fire-born dragon would know that the Ashfall Waste is not particularly fertile. Although the food that crops up from its rocky soil is edible, it is not the most nourishing— definitely nothing sustainable enough to feed a growing clan. Most CERTAINLY not enough to feed two hungry little mirrors. However, Fire made due with what she could find food-wise, and Honoo worked his hardest on establishing a territory for his small family. As Hanabi and Ashes continued to grow, however, so did their hunger. Due to this, their parents weren't particularly well-fed; they would both cut their rations in half to keep their children strong. This decision proved difficult for Honoo and Fire's strength and endurance most days, but they did their best, and they brought their children up strong. Once they were young adults capable of realizing the situation their small family was in, both Hanabi and Ashes decided that they must travel elsewhere to look for food— and that meant taking on the beast clans. The two had little interaction with the beast clans prior to this, as their parents did marvelous jobs at keeping them out of their territory. This made venturing off even more of a daunting task— yet, a necessary one. Hanabi, for one, was excited! The young mirror was full of energy and adrenaline, and with Ashes by her side she felt even more confident. Yes, Hanabi was forced to grow up quite quickly for her family's sake, but it was this upbringing that would sculpt her into the strong, forceful dragon that she would one day become. They both had hardships, of course. Starting out battling the beast clans with no prior experience was tough, but thankfully the groups in the Scorched Forest weren't the most formidable. Hanabi failed often. Ashes failed often. However, they helped one another and always brought home food at the end of the day. Every week they brought home more. Fighting became a second nature to the both of them— fighting meant survival. |
Now, however, fighting is just a part of every day life.
Hanabi was— and still is— an energetic, passionate fighter. She gives it her all on the battle field. She may rush into things quickly and take a few...extra...hits, but she gets the job done.
Hanabi also takes much interest in the spoils of her efforts (and Ashes', too.) When ambushing a beast clan camp or simply coming across some of its members out in the wild, sometimes there are rewards to be found! Oftentimes beast clan members will carry their supplies around in well-crafted crates; these are Hanabi's favorite treasures. They interest her. The crates' contents often differ depending on which species of beast she encounters. The mirror's den is basically constructed of these fascinating packages. Thankfully whenever Ashes discovers one herself she happily gifts it to her sister to record and keep. Hanabi likes to keep them in-tact despite the small hoards of treasure that can be found inside; the only alterations she will make is noting down where the crate was found as well as its contents and gently nailing it to the exterior.
