Marquis

You wander the seemingly endless halls of the Sacred Lotus Reliquary, books and baubles lining the walls around you in a dizzying display of knowledge. Suddenly, you hear a cheerful voice behind you, "Can I help you? You seem lost, I can't blame you, even the Weaver's collection wasn't this confusing!" You turn and see a pearcatcher, pearl tucked into his jacket, in a state of disarray that he seems oblivious to. His glasses make his eyes seem even brighter as they peer at you, "Are you looking for the town records? I can help you with those, but I'm afraid if you're looking for more historical tomes my mate Contessa would be a better choice!" He leads you happily through the endless displays, and helps you find what you're looking for, though you feel distinctly frazzled by the end of your encounter.


Marquis was born from a prestigious line of Weavers -- scribes to Lightweaver herself! -- and had a deep and innate love for record keeping. However, this was a love shared by nearly all of his clan, and he felt stifled and bland, growing up as only one of the faceless multitudes of Weavers in his home clan. When he finished his studies and was able to choose his vocation, he defied tradition and decided to adventure, hoping to find somewhere his talents and passions would be appreciated.

He came across Sanctuary as it was beginning to blossom into something that could actually be called a town, as opposed to a large campsite. It was immediately apparent that no one knew how to properly keep records, least of all Lythrum, who was expected to take over due to his general love of research. Begrudgingly, Lythrum gave the duty over to Marquis, who got his life's dream of devising a method of recording a town from it's start.

Over time it became clear that the minute records of day to day activities and the history of the town were too much for a single pearlcatcher to do alone. Contessa joined as a raucous and loud personality in the quiet Reliquary, but had a knack for researching and recording the city's origins that forced Lythrum to admit she was the best dragon for the job. Slowly, Marquis and Contessa fell in love, spending most of their time in the Reliquary, annoying Lythrum and helping frazzled tourists find their way around after dealing with the rather abrupt director.

Sanctuary's Leaders "Someone has to lead this ridiculous group, actually, multiple someone's are needed. It's a pretty crazy and not-insignificantly sized group. So we felt it only fair to have like, four or five people in charge."

Catleya • High Judge The leader of Sanctuary, Catleya rules with a mixture of respect, mystique, and iron-clad justice. She is a founding member of the city, along with Phalaen and Lythrum Phalaen • Bodyguard Phalaen is Catleya's quiet shadow of a bodyguard, as well as her mate. Though he is a dragon of few words, he was integral to the establishment of Sanctuary. Proserpina • People's Judge Formerly from an aristocratic family, Proserpina came to Sanctuary and met her mate, Pluto, leaving her family for a life devoted to serving the city that welcomed her.

Cassiopeia • Merchant's Judge Cassiopeia and her mate Ajax came to Sanctuary as refugees. From what, no one knows, but her connections brought a huge influx of trade, and thus she gained her title. Pluto • Military Judge Pluto gained his station through hard work, determination, and an iron bond with his guards. Though he may not be overly rambunctious, Pluto is a beloved judge of his people.

Flight Representitives "We don't live in a bubble people, and the Flight Reps make sure we stay that way. Catleya may be awesome but not even she can remember the nuances of all the flights and regions! We're in the process of getting more, but we've filled out the spots that we needed immediately."

Business Owners "Businesses are the backbone of Sanctuary, even the Reliquary is a business (technically)! That's not to discount the hard workers or anything, but at least for now we'll focus on the owners."

Ajax • Merchant Equally as mysterious as his mate, Ajax swept into Sanctuary and turned it into a trading hub seemingly overnight.

Rosi • Tavern Keeper Rosi owns one of the only taverns in Sanctuary (at least, the only one worth going to, according to many, many residents). Along with Girtab she keeps most of the citizens social and happy.

Solandra • Alchemist Solandra specializes in restoring artwork and relics with her alchemy...but only officially, really she loves basically anything that goes boom. She does the restoration mainly to appease her mate Lythrum.

Contessa • Reliquary Historian Contessa is an incredibly talented and loud historian who works in recording the clan's lore. She also keeps track of what's needed in the city, in between passion projects.
