▬▬▬▬▬▬ Everything was pretty good for the first few days after Spike hatched... he and his siblings played and learned of the world, he meet with his older sibling Mandie as well as her daughter Neroli. Exploring the lair, seeing what was going on in every corner Spike went everywhere he was allowed. That was until he realised his nest mates where being sold. His brother and sister weren’t staying! This was quite a surprise for him as well, as he too was priced and viewed much as they were. Seeing the world he reasoned would be grand, he looked forward to the adventure. Spike waited paciently to be picked up for his new home. His nest mates gone Spike thought he’d be sent away but he was staying... this at first seemed like a blessing... It was not. |

▬▬▬▬▬▬ Reaching his inevitable maturity Spike found himself noticing that his parents were not as happy as they had seemed. All through his self defence training he watched them argue, it was at these times he hid in the library with Neroli and sometimes Mandie. His father tried to explain what was going on, that his mother was restless thinking only of the past; Mandie’s granddaughter Nyx had not helped matters. He watched them fight, finding comfort in helping around the lair. The other dragons commented on the ease with which he moved and how graceful he would look if he only applied himself. With everything going on with his parents Spike needed a distraction, he sought out the treasure to magically change his markings with scrolls. On seeing his first change his mother was her old self again, happy and willing to show him things take him places... but after the second she was distant again. Talking to his father of his plans only seemed to cause his mother more anger at Ivan. She left... Out on a scouting mission his father said. But as the days went on she didn’t return, Spike sought out the scout leader and asked where his mother was... the answer brought him to tears. She was not coming back; Spike only had what was left here now. He has started dancing in the evenings to the music played by the bard; the clan lost some dancers a while ago... but Spike's dancing is so graceful and sad that he can move the audience to tears. |
