Seashore embarked on a wandering life at an early age. He first encountered the SeaRuffle clan when they, on an occasional visit to the Tsunami Flats, were preparing an above-water seafood barbequeue. Seashore joined right in and, in thanks for the delicious seafood dishes that the dragons of the SeaRuffle clan shared with him, sang his appreciation. His songs were received not only with acclaim, but in short order also with an invitation to join the clan, which Seashore gratefully did.

Seashore soon took over the primary education of the clan's hatchlings, which he manages by teaching them through short, rhyming ditties. Longer ballads and epics are shared in the clan's heart over many evenings. It was over the course of many of these evenings that he and Sandcastle became interested in each other's stories, and slowly entered into a courtship.

In the wake of the foundation of the Fishspine Scolia, Seashore worries often about his duties as teacher to the clan's hatchlings: will he become supplanted by one of the Scolia's fancy faculty?
