Stephanie is a bubbly coatl who speaks many languages, but is nearly unintelligible in all of them. She is an unlucky omen to the Swamp Denizens, and most avoid her, even running away. It's not like she isn't a lovely dragon to talk to, she just carries around some very powerful weapons. Her boss is thinking of relocating his office, as she casually mentions, and it's only a matter of time before everyone in the swamp has a job! It's a blossoming job opportunity! What she deigns to mention is who her boss is.

Another thing that has the other dragons running in fear is a five letter word that she throws around far too casually: Taxes. Most of the Denizens of the swamp are battle hardned and illegal thieves, jailers, torturers, murderers, abusers and smugglers. And they all unanimously agree that taxes are the scariest thing. Death? Death is easy, Urse can bring them back. Unimaginable pain? There are many doctors, some who only lost their medical license recently! Grieving family members coming to seek vengeance for the dragon who mysteriously went missing? Pay the right dragon and they go away. But Taxes.... Taxes don't go away, and they bite harder than any of the cat-sized mosquitoes out here.

She makes this strangely addicting substance though, that tastes like mud but brings a real buzz between the horns. It pairs very well with alcohol.

Stephanie came to the Tribe to be a secretary for the shade. No one knows who the shade even is, so they ignore her. She doesn't mind though. She sits at her desk, with her polished name plate, and watches the dragons passing by curiously.
Her days at work consist of sorting a small pile of paper and making sure the coffee pot is full, just in case the shade returns one day.

Of course, not a single one of the barbarians in my lair have seen a coffee pot, so they often try to melt it, kill it, or throw it away.

Actually, how does a coffee pot even work?

There's no electricity in the tribe.

Magic doesn't power coffee pots.

How does she keep the coffee pot?
What even is coffee?
How does she know what coffee is?
Why is her name Stephanie?
Why is she a professional dragon, she's not even wearing pants?
How did Voltair even let her in?
Is she even being paid?

Whoever she claims her boss is, he has some explaining to do whenever he shows up at the Tribe.

Jericho let her borrow a desk to place in a dilapidated hut near his bar. He doesn't know why she's there, and who she's setting up an office for, but he gets the feeling that she'll bring in customers. So he'll help her out. She pays Jericho for the use of the desk by bringing over a pot of thick black sludge. It tastes terrible, but she drinks it often with great gusto. And it gives Jericho an intense buzzy feeling, so he doesn't mind.

Sludge denies being her 'boss'. When asked about it, he goes quiet and mentions a being so foul and dark that he cannot even speak its name for fear of attracting it here. Even though her true boss has not come yet, (much to Sludge's relief), Sludge will often utilise her talents. She is a very effective assistant, always maintains his schedule (empty), manages his guests (none), sorts his finances (stolen objects), and pays his taxes (what?)
