Biography
S E R A P H I N A
It had been a long day. A really long day. Seraphina pushed her way through the swinging doors of the Rusty Claws Bar, breathing in the scent of liqour and sweat. This place had the best drinks in town, and you could always watch a good fight go down. Or sometimes, even start one. Heads turned immediately when they felt her presence, and Seraphina relished in their fear and wariness of her. She may or may not have sent a grown Ridgeback screaming out the door for mercy when he had drank too much and tried to touch her. Dragons who made regular trips to the Rusty Claws knew what she was capable of, she made sure of it. Seraphina swaggered over to her favorite barstool only to find a Wildclaw sitting in it. He looked just like her, only lacking her shimmering belly. Either way, he was in her spot. Seraphina slithered to his right side and looked straight into his face. "Excuse me sir, you are in my seat." The bar was dead silent. Without looking up, the Wildclaw garbled out some kind of intelligible response. "Didn' see your name on't." Now the whole restaraunt was looking their way. Seraphina's eyebrows furrowed. "I don't think you understand. That's my seat." The Wildclaw finally looked back into her eyes. "Then take it." Seraphina smiled. She sized him up. Seraphina was at least twice his size. But surely someone who was so clearly outmatched wouldn't challenge a larger opponent without something to fall back on? He must be hiding something. Just as she was about to wrench his stupid neck out of the chair, a Spiral popped his head into the bar. He looked straight at Seraphina. "You Seraphina?" "Who's asking?" "An affilate of mine requetes your presence." Seraphina couldn't turn him down without looking like a coward, so she turned towards the Wildclaw (who was trying his best to not look drunk). "I'll be back for my seat." The Spiral led Seraphina to a figure standing outside the bar. He was hooded. All three of them walked down into an alleyway, where Seraphina saw the hooded dragon was a Ridgeback. A familiar Ridgeback. A flurry of wings behind her told her the way out was blocked; the Spiral was nowhere to be found. I am so stupid. Stupid and dead. Before Seraphina could call out an alarm, talons raked down her scales, spraying blood onto the musty walls of the alley. Seraphina tried to shriek but talons clamped her mouth shut and dug into it. Seraphina flashed out her back talons and raked an unseen attacker, who fell back screaming. Slashing her front talons, she attempted to connect with whoever was holding her mouth shut, but she only succeded in getting her front arms tied together. Her back legs were cutting through the air like mad, if she lost those she was as good as dead. Just as stars began to cloud her vision, a shout of warning came from one of her attackers. That shout quickly turned into scream, and more blood stained the walls. The sound of claws tearing flesh pounded into her eardrums, and she strained to see her rescuer. The talons digging into her snout vanished, and the dragon who had been holding her down was thrown against the wall. The Ridgeback had disappeared. The alley was quiet. Seraphina lay there for a few moments to collect herself, then dragged herself to her talons, and much to her surprise, locked eyes with the Wildclaw from the bar. He looked at her curiously and stretched out a talon drenched in blood. He flicked it back to wipe some of it off, then tried again. "I'm Aethon." Seraphina didn't answer right away. "Why save me? I was being a jerk." "One, it was your seat, fair and square, and two, I have made it my mission to save as many dragons as possible. No matter who they are." Big ambitions for such a small dragon She didn't dare say it out loud. "I guess I should thank you." "You can thank me by buying me a drink." |
