Petrel takes her duties as treasurer very seriously. Despite her mellow demeanor towards all dragons, when it comes to finances she is quite serious and won’t take nonsense from anyone. She has even gone so far as to keep important documents plastered to her wings and arms, not wanting to lose them. (This occasionally creates some tension between her and Shelltide and Seagem, who would rather see the documents left in the library for protection.) Petrel was the first to adopt the duty of organizing the clan’s account books, and intends to be the only one, having not taken any apprentice.

Her mate, Seagem, helps her when he can, but prefers to flirt and play little pranks on her. Having a dislike for water, fearing its effect on paper and ink, Petrel prefers to spend her time on floating islands above the water's surface, only venturing into the seas once she has cast an intricate waterproof spell.

Petrel’s role and the demands upon her time have only increased, to her somewhat dismay, with the clan's foundation of Fishspine Scolia. This may be the development that pushes her, finally, into taking on an apprentice--although, as of yet, she has not.

When she isn’t checking and double-checking her accounts and fussing over the expenditure of treasure, she likes experimenting with different writing styles and pampering her Fox Rat, Milk.
