Biography

Seagem
Clan and Scolia Librarian
Forest Field Guide
Coral Basilisk Field Notes
Scary Storybook

As the clan's librarian, Seagem’s work frequently intersects with that of his mate, Petrel, the clan's bookkeeper. In fact, they met in the caves holding the books and archives belonging to clan SeaRuffle. Petrel was humming a liliting tune as she sought to double-check some purchase records from a previous year, and Seagem had been contemplating rearranging the books--for the first time--into some semblance of order. Seagem and Petrel began to debate whether the books should be organized by date (Honei's preferencE) or topic (Conch's preference).

Over the next few seasons their friendly argument continued, punctuated by the occasional input of Shelltide, nominally the clan's archivist, but whose primary concern is the documentation of the clan oracles' prophecies, and secondarily the upkeep of the books and records in the clan's collection--less so in their organization.

Organization, however, is Seagem‘s passion. From the way he sorts his precious items in his lair to the patterns that shape his life, Seagem loves order. His argument that books be sorted into categories eventually prevailed, and he settled happily into the effort of identifying and organizing the clan's books. Producing a detailed catalogue of the clan's and Scolia's books and records is his life's goal.

The clan's foundation of the Fishspine Scolia brought enormous delight to Seagem, who now had license to enlarge the library and even more authority over its organization and use. He is excited to work with the students of the Scholia, aiding them to find the right resources to help their research, although he's quick to condemn them any time they bring food or drink around his precious books.
