Ammolite

Ammolite studies deep sea phenomenon such as cold seeps and hydrothermal vents, particularly the role of the symbiotes that exist in and on most organisms in these toxic environments. These symbiotes reduce sulfur and methane compounds and have applications towards magical enhancement of natural firebreathing abilities in dragons.

Theres something ancient and unknowable in the depths. After dissecting a sample of what was thought to be an undiscovered subgenus of giant tube worm, they've been plagued by strange dreams that draw them to the water. Their old colleagues are worried, many not having heard from them in months. There are rumors they're building a submersible.
