The Engineer's Apprentice
A Lover of Science

From the moment his tiny head burst from the shell of his egg, this young mirror had a fascination with science and engineering, with a particular interest in robotic creatures. The first thing he did in the workshop he hatched in was befriend the workshop's coppercoil creeper -- a creation of the engineer who inhabited the workshop.

Iorazan's egg had been abandoned along the route of a renowned lightning engineer as he returned home with a cart full of supplies for his workshop. Unable to let an egg remain alone in the middle of a place as unforgiving as the highland scrub, the dedicated engineer took the egg with him with the intent of bringing it to town to find it a loving home the next time he had to make the daylong trek there for supplies. The engineer's plan was forgotten when the egg hatched in his workshop and immediately showed the pure love of science and engineering he'd been so hard-pressed to find in a student. That love caused the engineer's quick decision to make the young mirror his apprentice instead of finding him a home in town.
