Art by me.

There is darkness, yet your boned hands hold life high to the heavens. Celebration, misfortune...and yet you thread along the earth like vines and veins that throb under your crystallized skin. The wind whispers your name like a long lost lyric; you turn but no longer see. Turncloak. Survivor. Wise woman. Cursed witch. Your eyes for something more profound. Reality is yet another thread in the tapestry you have blatantly thrown away. Now you wither. Now you rot. But you are the last to remember, the first one yet forgotten. Immortalized.
The Blind Bone Witch
- was one of the successful cases who reverted from being a Child-Eater, but at the cost of her eyes and skin being burnt off after she tried to eat herself instead
- never takes her mask off, and relies on hearing to get around
- the skin on her claws are sturdy and literally bone, but could feel anything as if she’d still have normal hands
- has a strong connection with animals and nature, especially her familiar, Dunkirk and loves growing plants
- herbalist

When he was a hatchling, Desert was already the odd one out of the bunch, with the flowers crowning his head drab and wilting. Though his parents and other siblings politely never mentioned his predicament, he decided to take things in stride, living a quiet life while choosing to slowly detach from his family. He had decided to be "useful" elsewhere and took it upon himself to prepare to leave. He began to travelled a lot, learning a couple of things on the way, like herbal medicine.

Perhaps it was fate indeed when he came across a ship heading towards the Crystalspine Islands, him helping out load some crates containing various items. The captain, Evarinya, had called out to him. One of the crates had been enchanted to stay locked on the ground unless the captain herself moves it. Desert had been carrying the crate in question with such ease that it was almost disbelievable.

That was Desert's ticket out of the mainland and into a clan's stronghold on the Crystalspine, the Aetheatra. There had been nothing left for him on the mainland, and so he went with a free heart.
The clan had happily welcomed him, but the dragon that he had completely warmed up to was the quiet witch that lived at the edge of the clan's stronghold, the blind bone witch, Esmeralda. With his newfound ability of negating magic, coaxed on by the clan's magic users, particularly Greteel and Juno, he was soon appointed her guardian.

The two had an amicable relationship, perhaps even bordering into intimacy... But there was a quiet understanding between them that they realized: they were not quite so different from one another after all.

I really like female skydancers. You have a lot of pretty female skydancers. Esmeralda is no exception, with great lore to boot. I have a soft spot for characters who manage to escape harmful situations and go on to live kindly and do good things, and you did a good job conveying her character in her appearance. You did a great job combining nature, wind, and plague apparel to give the impression of a mysterious being, but still definitely not malicious.
